Dance Zone is an exciting new Dance School based on the Fraser Coast, specializing in performance-based singing and dancing for all ages. Students will be offered many opportunities to demonstrate these skills in public performances and eisteddfods.
Classes are held weekly in Maryborough and Howard for ages 4-15. All classes are open to both Boys and Girls, however, we do offer a Boy's only Hip Hop Class in Maryborough on Thursday nights. It's not too late to join any of our classes for this term. Fee are adjusted for the number of weeks left in the term. Group Classes & solo classes available. Weekly Message from
Rebecca Hi my lovely Dance Zone Families!! Only a few weeks left until the end of term. L I will miss you over the holidays! But at least I will get to spend time with some of you at Dance Camp!! Can’t wait!! For those of you attending, you should have received a flyer with details of the daily activities, meals etc. If you don’t have one, email me and I will forward it to you. If you are still thinking of coming, there are a few spots left, so I am happy to send you the flyer to give you more information before you make up your mind. Swimming, bush-walking, dancing, Karaoke, cooking, playing beach games…… it will be lots of fun. Sept 19-21 & Sept 24-26. This Saturday the Howard students are performing at their School Fete! The Tiny Song and Dance Class is so very very cute and talented, and my two brilliant solo students, Breeanna and Chloe will be performing too. Junior Song and Dance students will also be performing a great song! I have asked Lachlan and James from Maryborough to come along to give the Howard boys a taste of what they can learn in the Hip Hop class, as there are many Howard boys keen on taking up dancing! Good luck to everyone performing. I know it’s a bit scary and makes you nervous, but when you hear the crowds clapping at the end, you will feel very very proud of yourselves! All the dances are coming along well and some of our classes are up to learning a second dance for the end of year concert, which is great! If you are wanting to do a solo at the concert, there is still time to enrol in solo lessons. Let me know if you are interested. They are held on a Friday afternoon upstairs at Boltons Maryborough - $25 per half-hour lesson. If you want to do a duo, that would be only $12.50 each each week . Next term classes will start in the first week back – that is October 4 for Howard, October 5 for Maryborough. We will be starting working on costumes for the concert and I will have leotards and Jazz Shoes for everyone to try on to get their sizes. Costumes will be based around the one black outfit – leotard for girls, black shirt and shorts for boys. We will be accessorizing this for all the dances. This will keep the cost to a minimum and make changing costumes easy. But at the same time, it will give the audience exciting variety between the dances. I am working on some wonderful props, too! And finally, a bit thank you to Tahlia, Bridgette, Alex and all the other students who have given me hand-made incredibly beautiful letters. It makes me so happy to get such sweet notes from students, saying how much they are enjoying their classes. Keep them coming! I think I’ll make a page on the website for your artistic masterpieces!
